Saints Planning to Give Their Quarterbacks Plenty of Opportunities
When asked about the...When asked about the possibility about the New Orleans Saints brining in a more experienced quarterback after Derek Carr's sudden retirement, head coach Kellen Moore said that "we'll give these guys a bunch of opportunities" before making any calls on adding outside help at the position. The team has moved into the third phase of their offseason workouts and are doing on-field work for QBs Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, rookie second-rounder Tyler Shough and Hunter Dekkers. Moore said it will be "a lot on the process and less on the results as we go through this phase." Even though Rattler has the most experience under center in the NFL heading into his second year, Shough is the current favorite to win the starting gig in training camp this summer. The Saints aren't looking at outside help right now, but that could change if Shough struggles as the team gets closer to training camp.
